Teen boy struck by vehicle near Goleta

Transported to hospital with moderate injuries

SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. - A teen boy was transported to the hospital with moderate injuries after he was struck by a vehicle near Goleta on Friday.

It happened at around 3 p.m. at the intersection of Turnpike Road and Cervato Way.

Santa Barbara County Fire Department, Sheriff's Office, California Highway Patrol and ambulance responded to the scene.

The boy, estimated to be about 14-years-old, was loaded into an ambulance and transported to the hospital for treatment of moderate injuries, according to Santa Barbara County Fire Captain Daniel Bertucelli.

The driver remained on scene to speak with law enforcement.

Sheriff's deputies and CHP remained on scene to investigate the crash.
