Semi-truck crash slows traffic on Highway 101 through Santa Barbara City

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Emergency crews are working a multi-car crash Thursday afternoon. 

California Highway Patrol says a semi truck and at least two other cars crashed just before 3:40 p.m.

The crash is on the southbound side of Highway 101 just after La Cumbre and before Las Positas exits. 

Officials on scene said the semi-truck slammed into the metal guard rail. 

At least one minor injury was reported according to Santa Barbara City Fire Department. That person was transported to the hospital. 

Also two tow trucks were requested to move the cars involved. 

Traffic is moving very slow on both sides of the highway through the crash area. Light rain was passing over the city at the time of the accident.  

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
