OXNARD, Calif. - --UPDATE--
The 14-year-old Oxnard teen that was struck by a car in the 500 block of East Channel Islands Boulevard on the morning of May 30, 2018, has died.
The Oxnard Police Department says Jason Anthony Ortega, 14, was rushed to the hospital after officers found him in the roadway suffering from serious injuries. Police had initially listed him in stable condition. However, Ortega succumbed to his injuries after being transported to Los Angeles Children’s Hospital.
The 41-year-old woman who hit Ortega with her car has not yet been identified by authorities.

A car crash in Oxnard slowed traffic for commuters Wednesday morning and left a teen fighting for his life.
A 14-year-old teenage boy from Oxnard was seriously injured after he was struck by a 2009 Chevrolet Traverse being driven by a 41-year-old woman, also from Oxnard.
The driver was not injured in the collision.
Oxnard police say the crash happened on East Channel Islands Boulevard and Cloyne Street at about 7:10 a.m. when the teen was crossing the street and was hit by the Traverse traveling westbound.
The teen was rushed to the hospital where he is listed in serious but stable condition.
Traffic was heavily impacted in the area with both east and westbound lanes blocked. All roadways on Channel Islands Boulevard at Cloyne Street have since reopened.
