Diamond Bar man killed after driving car off PCH into ocean

Happened north of Deer Creek Road

VENTURA COUNTY, Calif. - A Diamond Bar man is dead after he lost control of his SUV on Pacific Coast Highway and plunged into the ocean Sunday evening.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened just after 7:30 p.m. Sunday on the Pacific Coast Highway just north of Deer Creek Road.

A 29-year-old man from Diamond Bar was driving north in his Toyota SUV when he drove into the southbound lane and went off the shoulder of the roadway and down an embankment into the Pacific Ocean.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was inside the car.

The identity of the driver has not been released.
