SANTA MARIA, Calif. - The driver in a major injury crash on Brown Road west of Santa Maria last week has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
At around 7 p.m. last Friday, Johanna Prado, 38, of Guadalupe was driving a 1994 Honda westbound on Brown Road when she approached a curve in the road, drifted off the roadway and crashed into a boulder. Her vehicle flipped and came to rest on its roof.
Prado was transported by ambulance to the hospital. Her passenger, a 28-year-old man, was airlifted to Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara.
Prado suffered spinal and femur fractures. Her passenger suffered broken bones in his chest and legs.
Prado was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol after receiving treatment at the hospital.
