5 injured in crash on Highway 101 west of Goleta

Two critically injured, infant moderate injuries

GOLETA, Calif. - Two people were critically injured and an infant suffered moderate injuries in a crash on Highway 101 west of Goleta Tuesday afternoon. 

It happened at around 1:35 p.m.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a white Ford F-350 was making a left turn from Highway 101 onto Las Varas Canyon Road. A silver Toyota Tundra that was traveling southbound struck the F-350 as it turned. 

Both vehicles ended up in a ditch, according to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department. 

The male driver of the Ford was treated at the scene, but his male passenger suffered major injuries.

The male driver of the Toyota Tundra suffered minor injuries, and the female passenger suffered major injuries. An infant male in the Tundra suffered moderate injuries. 

Three ambulances took the four injured people to the hospital. 

The crash is under investigation by CHP.
