10-year-old girl struck by car in Oxnard dies

OXNARD, Calif. - A 10-year-old girl has died after she was struck by a car while crossing the street in Oxnard on Saturday.

At around 6:50 p.m., emergency responders arrived at the scene where a vehicle hit a pedestrian. 

The girl was attempting to cross Olds Road north of Sanford Street when she was struck by a 1993 Mercury Tracer going north. The driver of the Mercury remained at the scene and was cooperating with the investigation. It's unclear if the driver was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

The 10-year-old girl suffered serious injuries and was immediately transported to the hospital. She died at the hospital on Monday.
