1 flown to hospital with serious injuries after crash in Santa Maria

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - One person was flown to the hospital by helicopter for treatment of serious injuries following a crash in Santa Maria. 

The crash happened around 3:15 p.m. near the intersection of Broadway and Enos Drive.

Three vehicles were involved in the crash. Multiple people told Santa Maria police that a Toyota truck rolled over a sidewalk and through a brick wall, striking a vehicle with people inside as well as a parked car in a parking lot.

The passenger of the Toyota truck suffered major injuries and had to be airlifted to the hospital.

The driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, causing injury. 

The crash is under investigation by the Santa Maria Police Department.
