SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - San Marcos High School won only two varsity football games last year but that win total could have been more had they been able to close out games.
The Royals had the lead in seven games at half or in the third quarter but could not finish strong.
San Marcos has made it a point this summer to finish off drills, go hard each play and end each practice on a strong note and hopefully that will carry into games.
The Royals have plenty of experience at quarterback with senior Ben Partee. He has developed a terrific connection with fellow senior Josh Brown. Partee also says the Royals offensive line has improved.
San Marcos hosts Santa Paula to begin the season on August 23.
