CARPINTERIA, Calif. - Mario Robinson is back in Carpinteria as he now leads the football program for the Warriors.
Back in the late 1990's Robinson coached youth football in Carpinteria and even led his senior team to a Super Bowl win.
Since then he has been coaching at the high school level in Ventura County but he is excited to return to Carp where he has some talented players to work with for the 2019 season.
The Warriors biggest player is their quarterback, 6'3 senior Will Collins who will also play linebacker.
Jacob Macias and Jacob Mata are big play threats for Carpinteria who will likely play at a faster pace this year.
Carpinteria opens the season on August 30 at home against Santa Ynez.
The Warriors lost two Citrus Coast League games on their schedule this year as both Malibu and Santa Clara have dropped down to 8-man football.
