Cal scores three early goals for easy win over UCSB men's soccer

Cal beats UCSB behind trio of first half goals

UC SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Looking for a better effort after a loss to Virginia Tech last weekend, UC Santa Barbara men's soccer instead got one that was less inspiring.

The Gauchos allowed three first half goals, including one only 45 seconds into the game, in a 3-0 home loss to Cal on Saturday night.

Cal's Simon Lekressner converted on a cross only 45 seconds into the game. Arman Samimi scored on another cross 13 minutes later to make it 2-0 Golden Bears.

Thomas WIlliamson completed the scoring with a well-placed header off a corner kick in the 39th minute.

The Gauchos have now been outscored 6-1 in their past two games. UCSB will look for a turnaround in its first road game of the season, Thursday at Gonzaga.
