Santa Paula police arrest 3 alleged gang members suspected of making criminal threats

SANTA PAULA, Calif. - The Santa Paula Police Department arrested three suspected gang members after serving search warrants on Friday.

The Detective Bureau conducted an investigation about criminal threats by suspected Santa Paula gang members. 

The victims identified the suspects through the investigation and detectives obtained search warrants.

Santa Paula Police Department and Ventura County Sheriff's Department SWAT teams served two search warrants at the same time. 

Suspected gang members Juan Mex Velasquez, 40, Efrain Hernandez, 38 and Mark Lugo, 27, from Santa Paula were taken into custody and could face charges for allegedly making criminal threats. 

Velasquez may also face charges for possessing a firearm.

All three suspects have been previously arrested by the Santa Paula Police Departments.

Velasquez, Hernandez and Lugo were taken to the Ventura County Jail.
