Oxnard police arrest robbery, stabbing suspect

OXNARD, Calif. - The Oxnard Police Department arrested a man who they say beat and stabbed a victim during an April robbery.

Early Friday morning, law enforcement served a search warrant at a home on the 5300 block of Cypress Road in Oxnard. Members of the Oxnard police violent crimes unit, a SWAT team, and a K-9 unit responded.

The search warrant was issued in connection to a robbery and stabbing incident that took place on April 7 on the 4700 block of Terrace Avenue. Police say multiple suspects chased down a victim, beat and stabbed them and then stolen an undisclosed amount of cash.

Investigators eventually identified Javier Flores, 22, of Oxnard as a suspect in the stabbing and robbery. Flores was arrested at around 5 a.m. at his home and was later booked into the Ventura County Jail.

He faces possible charges for armed robbery and assault with a deadly weapon.
