Man killed in Ventura RV fire

VENTURA, Calif. - A man lost his life after a fire broke out inside an R.V. Thursday night, according to the Ventura City Fire Department.

It happened at about 10:20 p.m. in the area of North Bank Drive and Johnson Drive.

The trailer was found parked near a daycare center and vacant movie theater.

Firefighters saw the R.V. was on fire and forced themselves in. When they got inside, they found an unconscious man in his late 50's. The man also had burns on his upper body.

Crews pulled the man out of the R.V. and began performing CPR for 30 minutes with no success and the man was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not been released.

No one else was inside the trailer at the time of the fire.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but the fire department is calling the death suspicious. Anyone with any information about this case is asked to call the Ventura Police Department.
