Trinity Episcopal Church welcomes storm evacuees for Ash Wednesday services

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Parishioners from All Saints by the Sea Episcopal Church made plans to attend Ash Wednesday services elsewhere when evacuations were ordered prior to the recent storm in Montecito.

Allthough the evacuation order was lifted on Wednesday morning, they kept their plans to attend Trinity Episcopal Church in Santa Barbara.

Sally Messerlian said she liked seeing her friends at Trinity and she liked the humble theme of the program.

People of all ages attended the service including Becky Hoffman and her baby Joshua.

Ash Wednesday marks the 46 days before Easter Sunday and the start of Lent.
