Santa Maria Police investigating suspected stabbing, one victim airlifted to hospital

Victim attacked for no apparent reason

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - UPDATE: 2:00 A.M. MONDAY.

Santa Maria Police say they are searching for two suspects in connection with Sunday Night's stabbing. 

They say the victim was standing near a food truck when he was attacked by the suspects, for no apparent reason.

When officers arrived, they found the victim laying in the parking lot of the Broadway Discount Store, on the 800 block of North Broadway. 

Officers say one of the suspects stabbed the victim several times throughout his upper body. The two suspects then ran from the scene. 

They say the victim is in stable condition, recovering from several stab wounds at Santa Barbara's Cottage Hospital. 

Police say they are looking for two Hispanic men, either in their late teens or early 20s.

Santa Maria police are investigating a stabbing near the corner of Alvin and Broadway.

Santa Maria Fire and American Medical Response, responded to the incident on Sunday around 9 p.m

Santa Maria police says when officers arrived they found a male victim with injuries consistent with stab wounds in the parking lot of a nearby business.

The Santa Maria Fire Department says one patient was airlifted to Cottage Hospital by CalStar with serious injuries.

Police believe there are two suspects involved at this time and are asking for people to avoid the area until further notice.
