SANTA MARIA, Calif. - Two Santa Maria High School students won $20,000 Coca-Cola scholarships, according to The Santa Maria Joint Union High School District (SMJUHSD).
The district announced on Thursday that Isabella Blanco and Jennifer De Leon-Dominguez are Coca-Cola Scholars. They are two of 150 students nationwide that have won the scholarship this year out of 95,715 applicants.
The scholarship is achievement-based and is awarded to students who show a capacity to lead and serve, according to SMJUHSD Public Information Officer Kenny Klein.
The pair join Michelle Qin of Dos Pueblos High School as Santa Barbara County students to receive the prestigious scholarship.
