According to Santa Barbara County Fire Department, there were five victims in a head-on-collision accident 3 miles west of Rock Front Ranch on State Route 166 E.
Two people in one vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene.
Three people in the other vehicle involved were extricated. Two of them were transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital.
One person was transported by CALSTAR Helicopter.
According to CHP, the two vehicles involved were an older Sedan and a Silver Nissan Sedan.
CHP had State Route 166 closed to land the CALSTAR helicopter and to perform their investigation according to officials.

The California Highway Patrol has confirmed a request for a coroner for two following a vehicle accident on State Route 166 off of Rock Front Ranch in the Santa Maria area.
Lanes in both directions are still blocked off as of 1:16 p.m. Saturday afternoon.
Traffic is expected to be altered for the next hour-and-a-half according to CHP.

Officials say there are two possible fatalities, but cannot confirm.
CALSTAR helicopter has landed on the east side of the scene according to CHP.
The fire department has lanes blocked off in both directions for CalStar to land on the east side of the scene according to CHP.
