SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - There will be a special showing Friday night of the nationally acclaimed military documentary, "Thank You for Your Service."
It is the story of Sgt. Adam Schumann as he tries to readjust to civilian life after returning home from the war in Iraq. The film also focuses on a fellow soldier who is left with a traumatic brain injury.
The film was co-directed by local veteran William Rodriquez and kicks off three days of local tributes in honor of Veterans Day.
The Granada Theater is hosting Friday night's 7:00 p.m. military film. Tickets are $10 dollars at the door; those in uniform get in for free.
On the official observance of Veterans Day, Saturday, November 11, a poignant, one-hour tribute will be held at the Santa Barbara Cemetery off Channel Drive in Montecito. The event will also feature the Santa Barbara Choral Society. Saturday's ceremony starts at 11:00 a.m.
