SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - La Colina Junior High School in Santa Barbara announced the hiring of Jennifer Foster as the school's next principal.
Foster is currently an assistant principal at the school. She will transition into the role of principal on July 1.
Foster takes over the position left vacant by the retirement of former principal David Ortiz, who worked as an educator/administrator for more than four decades.
Foster has been a school administrator for 19 years in both junior high and high schools.
She is a Santa Barbara County native and has a Bachelor of Arts in history and a Masters in Education from UCSB.
“I am thrilled to be selected to serve as principal of La Colina Junior High," Foster said in a press release. “La Colina prides itself on its strong academic achievement and efforts to prepare all students for high school and beyond. I am honored to continue to be a part of this school culture and look forward to engaging with students, staff, parents and the community in my new position.”
