SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. - The Conception salvage operations taking place off of Santa Cruz Island were suspended on Friday.
The United States Coast Guard said operations were suspended due to weather and safety concerns.
Salvage efforts began Thursday afternoon. The Coast Guard is overseeing the operation.
The unified command will monitor weather conditions and resume salvage operations when it is determined to be safe to do so.
