Three adults and four children, including a two-month-old baby, were inside the SUV when it left the roadway and careened through a pocket of trees. Firefighters say the vehicle did not hit any tree trunks or large branches. It eventually came to rest along a fence that borders Calle Real.
The woman who was driving suffered moderate injuries and was taken to Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara. The two other adults were not hurt.
All four of the children were taken to the hospital. Firefighters say one boy suffered major injuries, another boy suffered moderate injuries, a young girl suffered minor injuries, and the baby was taken to the hospital as a precaution to be evaluated.
