SAN MIGUEL, Calif. - A volunteer firefighter celebrated 60 years of work at the San Miguel Fire Department on Saturday.
At 11 years old, Gib Buckman started out as a Boy Scout cleaning the engines and burning grass lots.
Buckman grew up to become an engineer for the San Miguel Fire Department, and he's never stopped.
San Miguel Firefighter Association celebrated Buckman's achievement at the department for the past 60 years.
His childhood Boy Scout friends came out to support Buckman as well.
Buckman received a plaque for his service to the fire department.
