Police searching for dog involved in deadly attack on small dog in Grover Beach

GROVER BEACH, Calif. - A small dog was killed after it was attacked by another dog in Grover Beach Wednesday morning.

It happened around 9:45 a.m. near Hero Park, in the 1600 block of Farroll Road.

Police and Animal Services officers were called to the scene.

Witnesses told officers that a larger dog was running through the neighborhood when it attacked a smaller dog that was walking with its owner.

The smaller dog was taken to a local pet emergency room, but died of its injuries.

Police haven't located the larger dog that was involved in the attack.

Officers are asking for help locating the dog, which they believe was a pit bull wearing a red collar.
