NIPOMO, Calif. - A vehicle versus pedestrian crash at an intersection left one person dead Friday evening in Nipomo.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a vehicle was driving on Oakglen Avenue northbound approaching Tefft Street. At the same time, a pedestrian was stopped on the northwest corner of the intersection waiting to walk across the street.
Simultaneously, the vehicle made a left turn onto Tefft Street westbound while facing a green light when the pedestrian proceeded to walk across the street.
The vehicle hit the pedestrian sending him flying before hitting the ground.
The pedestrian was transported to Marian Regional Medical Center where he died from his injuries.
The collision is still under investigation and it is not yet known of drugs or alcohol played a part in the collision.
