SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - After about a two year vacancy, the former Trader Joe's building on lower Milpas Street in Santa Barbara will become a Sprouts Farmers Market.
Permit-related documents show the conversion in the Santa Barbara Plaza will include a new facade, along with upgraded parking lot lighting and landscaping.
The Trader Joe's chain moved out of the building on 29 S. Milpas St. in 2017 and up the street to a much larger site.
Sprouts has a store in Goleta; this location will be the first one in Santa Barbara.
No opening date has been announced.
The site is in the Santa Barbara Plaza which also has a Rite Aid and Jack's Bagels.
