SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - City planners and local politicians met at a conference in Santa Barbara called 'Resilient Future' on Monday.
The conference focused on a variety of issues including the housing crisis, homelessness, and climate change.
The American Planning Association also gave out awards.
Oxnard Mayor Pro Tem Carmen Ramirez picked up an award for Oxnard's successful effort to fight off the Puente Power Plant proposal by Oxnard Shores.
An overnight workshop trip to the Channel Islands was supposed to be held on the Truth boat owned by Truth Aquatics. The trip was canceled following the Conception dive boat tragedy.
The conference runs through Wednesday at the Santa Barbara Hilton.
