UPDATE: Lopez Lake fire burns 220 acres, 50% contained
ARROYO GRANDE, Calif. - UPDATE: More accurate mapping is showing the fire at approximately 220 acres and 50% containment.
If conditions allow, evacuation orders will be lifted for the area of French Camp and Upper Lopez Canyon Road at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 23.
Officials are responding to a vegetation fire near Lopez Lake, east of Arroyo Grande.
Cal Fire SLO says the fire is burning at about 250 acres and is 0% contained. Evacuations have been ordered for upper Lopez Canyon areas near Lopez Lake.
Crews will remain on scene overnight.

Cews are out battling a 250-acre fast-growing vegetation fire that broke out just before 2 p.m. today.
Cal Fire SLO says the fire could reach up to 500 acres.
Due to its location, officials are calling it the #LopezFire
No word yet on the cause of the fire.
