Two Ventura convenience stores robbed within an hour of eachother

Unclear if related to earlier robberies this week

VENTURA, Calif. - Ventura police are looking for a man who robbed two convenience stores within an hour of each other early Friday morning.

The first robbery took place at the Circle K Store at 1007 East Main St. in Ventura at around 3:40 a.m. The man entered the store, pointed a handgun at the clerk and demanded money. The employee complied and handed over an undisclosed amount of cash and the robber fled in a silver car.

About an hour later, another Circle K Store at 1001 South Petit Ave. was robbed under similar circumstances. A man who fit the description of the first robber entered the store, flashed a gun and demanded money. He then fled the area with the cash and was again seen driving off in a silver sedan.

Police say a Toyota Prius may have been the vehicle used in both robberies.

The suspect is a man who was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and a mask.

There is no additional suspect information at this time. Police say it is unclear at this time if this robbery is connected to other robberies committed in the city earlier this week.
