Santa Maria police seize over $100,000 during search warrant investigation

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - The Santa Maria Police Department announced early Saturday morning that a narcotics investigation led to officers seizing over $100,000 and nearly 100 grams of cocaine in Santa Maria. 

Officers made a traffic stop and later a search warrant service in the 300 block of South Western Street.

They were able to seize 85 grams of cocaine, drug packaging material, drug scales, and over $116,000 in cash during the search. 

Officers also arrested Jose Andres Morales Madrid, 31, during the investigation.

Madrid was booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail and could face charges related to the possession of cocaine for sale and the transportation of cocaine.
