SANTA MARIA, Calif. - UPDATE:
The Santa Maria Police have arrested two subjects in relation to the July 11 shooting that happened in the area of Thornburg and Chruch.
On Friday, detectives, SET, and SWAT arrested Francisco Ortiz-Rivera, 18, without incident on the 600 block of West Polk. Police also arrested Ortiz-Rivera for an alleged carjacking that occurred on January 24 in the area of Blosser and Main. The victim in that incident suffered minor injuries.
Police book Ortiz-Rivera into jail on a warrant for attempted murder and carjacking.
The second subject, Luis Arturo Martinez, 18, was arrested without incident in the area of Miller and Betteravia. Police booked Martinez into jail on a warrant for attempted murder.
A shooting investigation is underway after one or more shooters shot at three young men in Santa Maria Wednesday night, according to police.
It happened at 7:34 p.m. in the area of Thornburg Avenue and Church Street.
Witnesses reported seeing someone leave their car and shot at three young men walking on the sidewalk. The man then went back to his car and drove away.
The three victims were not hurt.
Police are still searching for the shooters. Anyone with information about the shooting is urged to call Santa Maria police.
