Oxnard police investigating after driver reportedly shoots at a bicyclist

OXNARD, Calif. - The Oxnard Police Department has started an investigation after an Oxnard resident reported that he was shot at on Saturday morning.

At around 7:30 a.m. the 23-year-old resident flagged down a patrol officer near San Mateo and El Dorado Avenue and told the officer that he had been shot at by a driver of a Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) while he was riding his bicycle.

The Oxnard Police Department had also been receiving calls of shots fired in the 2300 block of Dupont Street at around the same time that the victim reported being shot at. 

Officers were able to collect evidence of a shooting after responding to the 2300 block. 

According to officials, the suspect was believed to be driving a white compact SUV.
