OXNARD, Calif. - An Oxnard man was arrested after he lead police on a brief chase on a stolen motorcycle Thursday.
According to the Port Hueneme Police Department, it happened at 6:00 p.m. Thursday in the 700 block of West Channel Island Boulevard and Lido Street. A records check of a speeding motorcycle revealed it was reported stolen out of Oxnard two months ago.
The suspect refused to stop and a brief chase ensued through the Ralph's and Oliveria Shopping Centers. The suspect continued northbound onto Victoria Avenue when he lost control of the motorcycle in the area of Victoria Avenue and Ketch Avenue in Oxnard, police said.
The suspect, 48-year-old George Rico of Oxnard was arrested and charged with evading an officer, unlawful driving/taking of a vehicle and possession of a controlled substance. He was booked into the Ventura County Main Jail.
