Oceano Dunes shooting suspect in court

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - A Bay Area man charged in a shooting at the Oceano Dunes State Park ten days ago has had his arraignment in San Luis Obispo County Superior Court postponed again as he seeks an attorney to represent him.

19-year-old Francisco Orozco of Oakland is charged with attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon in the shooting that took place at the Oceano Dunes State Park overnight on the weekend of May 4 and May 5.

Orozco has not yet entered a plea to the multiple felony charges against him as his arraignment was continued for a second time.

Several people were injured in the gunfire that erupted at the Oceano Dunes State Park overnight on the weekend of May 4 and May 5.

All of the gunshot victims have since been treated and released from the hospital.

The motive for the shooting remains unknown.

Witnesses have said there was a large gathering of people at one location on the dunes at the time of the shooting.

Orozco is due back in San Luis Obispo County Superior Court on May 23 for arraignment and he remains in San Luis Obispo County Jail with his bail set at $1 million.
