Man arrested for smashing windows of SLO County vehicles, business

ARROYO GRANDE, Calif. - A 20-year-old man was arrested Thursday after police say he threw rocks at some San Luis Obispo County vehicles and a business in Arroyo Grande.

Arroyo Grande police responded to the 1000 block of E. Grande Avenue for a report of vandalism in the parking lot of the Department of Social Services.

The suspect was seen throwing large rocks at the windshields at some County-owned vehicles. The suspect left the parking lot and continued down Grand Avenue when police witnessed him throwing rocks through the window of a business.

The man was arrested without incident. He was identified as Anthony Christopher Panos, 20, of Atascadero. He was booked into the San Luis Obispo County Jail.

Because he reportedly caused "substantial" damage, he could face felony charges for vandalism.
