SANTA MARIA, Calif. - Santa Barbara County sheriff's deputies arrested two men Sunday who had a loaded pistol without a serial number, approximately half an ounce of Methamphetamine and other drug paraphernalia in their car.
Deputies attempted to pull over the car near S. Bradley Road and Larch Avenue around 7:15 p.m. Sunday. The car eventually stopped on Shady Glen Drive, Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office said.
The driver, 29-year-old Kevin Scott Ussery of Santa Maria, was arrested for evading a peace officer, possession of meth and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also booked on warrants for identity theft and grand theft. Ussery is being held on $70,000 bail.
The passenger was identified as 25-year-old Samuel James Albrecht of Santa Maria. Albrecht was arrested and faces possible charges including possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number, felon in possession of firearm and possession of meth with intent to sell.
Additional drug paraphernalia was found during a cavity search of Albrecht at the county jail. He posted $50,000 bail and was released Tuesday from custody.
