SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Santa Barbara Airport passengers will soon be able to start flying non-stop to Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota after a surprise announcement from Sun Country Airlines on Wednesday, May 2.
The airline carrier is also known for its "low fare" or competitive fares offering several "pay-as-you-go" amenities. Sun Country is offering introductory fares as low as $109 one-way.
Seasonal nonstop flights between Minneapolis/St. Paul and Santa Barbara will be offered August 16 through December 9, 2018. Flight schedules and details can be found on suncountry.com.
“Santa Barbara is the perfect place for a relaxing sun-filled getaway,” said Jude Bricker, president and CEO of Sun Country Airlines. “We look forward to continuing to grow our offering of seasonal destinations and are happy to add a sixth California city to our network.”
Sun Country's service to Minneapolis will take Santa Barbara area residents directly to the nation's 17th largest international airport with connections to numerous east coast destinations.
The service will run seasonally two days a week, Thursdays and Sundays.
Sun Country's announcement came one day after Frontier Airlines said they would be offering non-stop flights three days a week to and from Denver.
