National Library Workers Day held during a week of special library events

National Library Week honors workers

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - National Library Week included a day to honor library workers on Tuesday.

The Santa Barbara Library received a proclamation from the mayor recognizing the library and its workers.

The Santa Barbara Library is hosting an evening with National Book Award finalist Jarret Krosockza on Thursday at 7 p.m.

Krosockza is the author and illustrator of "Key, Kiddo" and other books.

The Library is also planning an open house this Saturday from 3-5 p.m.

Library Services Director Molly Wetta said it only takes a minute to get a library card if you show your drivers licence.

She said the card will allow readers to check out books in person or online.

There are also a number of apps that allow library members to download ebooks and audiobooks for free.
