SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Carry The Load relay team members cycled from Santa Maria to Santa Barbara on Monday.
They are on a mission to remind people what Memorial Day is all about.
They started in Seatlle and will finish in Dallas on the holiday meant to remember people who have made the ultimate sacrafice.
Team members stopped in Goleta for lunch.
They said the nonprofit was started by a man who decided to carry a pound for every person he remembered on Memorial Day.
Christian Hansley said she was carrying a backpack in memory of her grandpa who served in World War II.
John Hall said they hope to raise awareness during the long ride and walk.
They had one bump in the road when one of their bicycles was stolen but they got it back.
