SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. - The nationwide "Clear the Shelters" pet adoption drive is happening on Saturday, August 17. It's an opportunity to bring home a forever friend, without having to pay adoption fees.
The Santa Barbara County Animal Services is teaming up with the national "Clear the Shelters" campaign to help get animals into loving homes. Since 2015, more than 250,000 animals have found homes through this effort.
The one-day event is happening on August 17 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at all three Santa Barbara County Animal Services Adoption Centers. Adoption fees are waived but donations are accepted. Dog adoptions are also subject to a $13 license.
Ventura County Animal Services is also offering waived adoption fees on Saturday.
