Paddle Out Against Paredon | No on J

Local surfer and artist Carrie Reynolds initiated the Paddle Out Against Paredon in support of the Citizens Committee Against Paredon Initiative (Citizens CAP) and their effort to defeat Measure J, the proposed Oil and Gas drilling initiative backed by Denver-based Venoco, Inc. Surfers, paddleboarders, kayakers, windsurfers, numerous organizations, and concerned community members came together to show appreciation for this beautiful town and to encourage Carpinteria voters to say “No on Measure J” on May 1st at Carpinteria City Beach.

Carpinteria welcomed the opening of Rincon Beach to the public but now the surfers are a bunch of egotistical cry-babies like Carrie Reynolds. Cry some more and maybe no pain-in-the-rears like Carrie Reynolds because of the beach being closed.

At one time Rincon Beach was crowded with oil derricks from one end to the other end. And derricks in the water out to a half mile out. All that was cleaned up without even being acknowdged by that selfish, self-centered Carrie Reynolds or any surfer

Todays Chumash complain that old time Chumash could not keep their canos clean because of natural seepage. The Santa Barbara oil "spill" of 1969 was actually natural seepage. Environmentalists spread lies to draw donations to keep
