One way to beat the 'heat'

Quick-Thinking Driver Curbs Heatwave

At approximately 3PM on Friday April 30th, 2010 someone driving south along Shoreline Drive/Cabrillo between Loma Alta and the Harbor entrance apparently got tired of today's suddenly warm weather and decided to "bring the rain" be swerving off-road and taking out a fire hydrant.

Harbor patrol was quick on the scene followed by SBFD, but upon seeing the camera, immediately stopped frolicking in the geyser for fear of getting in trouble with their supervisors.

"Quick--look busy!" was heard being shouted by one of those on-scene.
