UFC STAR RAISES MONEY FOR LOCAL CHARITY

Wanderlei “The Axe Murderer” Silva lead a training seminar specifically to raise funds for community martial arts and self defenses courses from the Buellton based non-profit, Total Life Fitness, Inc

This past weekend, one of the biggest names in Proffesional Mixed Martial Arts and the UFC, Wanderlei Silva, trained 30 MMA enthusiasts, students, amateur and pro MMA fighters in seminar where the proceeds benefited the community based martial arts and self defense programs at Total Life Fitness / The Dojo in Buellton.

The fundraiser was held at the Buellton Rec Center Gym on April 10th and successfully raised over $1600 for the low and no cost martial arts programs. The martial arts programs at Total Life Fitness, Inc directly benefit the youth the SYV community, as well reaching out to the youth and adults alike of north county.

“This event was a success on many levels.” Josh Grant, Director at Total life Fitness, Inc said Saturday. “ Not only did we raise money for programs that desperately needed support, but we brought awareness to the community about mixed martial arts as a positive alternative to the streets, gangs, and drugs in our community. And we introduced one of the best fighters in the UFC to many fans, giving them the opportunity to do locally what they would normally have to go to Las Vegas to do: train with a legend. Everyone came away happy, with new skills and great memories.”

Rob Cardenas, manager for Wanderlei Silva, said later that day “Wanderlei and I were excited to be able to come out and work with Josh (Grant) and The Dojo at this seminar. The guys did great and we’re glad we were able to help Total Life Fitness raise money for their programs.”

Wanderlei “The Axe Murderer” Silva put ALOT of $$$$$$$$$$$$ in his pocket before the charity money was given out. And then many kids went home with dreams of how to break arms and heads, thanks to Wanderlei Slva- keyt has no community morals.
