March 20th, 2010- Local mixed martial artist, Keith Cutrone, wins his amateur debut in Salinas, Ca against the local favorite Andres Alcantar after 3 rounds of action, ending in a unanimous decision in favor of Cutrone.
Keith Cutrone, an amateur mixed martial arts fighter who trains out of The Dojo in Buellton, won a hard fought battle in Salinas this past weekend, overcoming his opponent and local favorite, Andres Alcantar.
“Keith’s game was on that day” said his coach and conerman, Jason Elliot- also from The Dojo in Buellton, “We studied his opponent, developed a game plan and stuck with it. Keith really brought the fight to Alcantar and represented both his gym and his sponsors with pride.”
Cutrone, who started his amateur Mixed Martial Arts career training in his backyard in Nipomo with one old heavy bag, several pieces of cardboard as mats and a few dedicated friends, thoroughly impressed not only the judges, but several professional Mixed Martial Artists in attendance with his skills in the cage.
Keith fought phenomenally well and his opponent definitely made him earn the win” says Dojo Fight Team Manager Josh Grant. “Keith shined brightly that day in the cage and I am convinced that he will continue to prove himself in subsequent fights.”
“The fight team sponsors,” Josh Grant continues “are equally impressed with Keith. He has drawn much praise from The Vitamin and Herb shop in Buellton, proteinfactory.com, Knight Broadcasting and Effective Aggression, the team’s most recent sponsor. We are all extremely proud of him and look forward to a long and successful career in mixed martial arts.
