Legendary Dodgers Manager Tommy Lasorda

"A Night with Tommy" 02.05.10

Los Angeles Dodgers Legendary Manager Tommy Lasorda was honored this past Friday night by the UCSB Gauchos Baseball team, the Santa Barbara Foresters, and our Santa Barbara community. This special night was the first in what will become an annual event to help raise much needed funds to upgrade Caesar Uyesaka Stadium into a state of the art baseball stadium. Caesar Uyesaka Stadium is the home to both the UCSB Gaucho Baseball team and the Santa Barbara Foresters.

"A Night with Tommy" was as spectacular as anyone could ever imagine with "Tommy" sharing stories of his amazing baseball career. Everyone who was in attendance had an opportunity to sit with Tommy and have their picture taken. He even stayed around for hours after most went home to just talk baseball with all of his fans.

This Co-Sponsored event also included the Santa Barbara Foresters inducting 3 former players into their Hall of Fame. First was Chris Koeper who still leads the Foresters in almost every major category.

Former Santa Barbara High, UCSB, and current Colorado Rockies Star Ryan Spilborghs was next to become inducted. Finally Eric Pintard who battled for years before succumbing to cancer and is the reason why the Hugs for Cubs are in existence today was the last inductee of the evening.
