Northridge Rd. Saved By Valiant Efforts

Sunday, May 10. The Ryan and Silvern-Mehr children thank the valiant efforts of the firefighters for saving their homes on Thursday night as fire raged above Northridge Rd. and came down the canyons on either side of the street.

"It is a miracle all homes were saved," said resident Terry Mehr who lives about half way up Northridge Rd. "Fire literally came to the doorstop of nearly all the homes on the eastern side of the street, yet they are all standing. It is unbelievable."

"The first thing we did when we returned from evacuation was make signs thanking the firefighters." They are still patrolling the street and have offered their assistance with clean up. We cannot express our gratitude in words.
