At about 11p.m. during Thursday nights firestorm, my girlfriend and I used some connections to gain access to our home (which we had been evacuated from three days ago). During this time, I climbed up on our roof, and shot the fire blazing just over the hill behind our house. By the end of the clip, the flames were nearing the top, and we were again forced to leave. At 1:30a.m. we learned that the fire had came all the way down to the street we live on (Foothill Rd. and Mission Canyon) and had jumped the street. Still no word on whether our house is still there.
UPDATE: while covering another story today (May 8th) with CNN, a very generous employee used the power of his press pass to drive me by the home I was almost sure we lost. As we approached I gave a sigh of relief to find our house still stood, along with the rest of the block. The homes further down however, were not so lucky.

I am happy for you guys. The feeling of "not knowing what is going on" is horrible, but knowing that you lost everything is even worst.
