The fire from our front deck on Conejo road, three minutes before I was evacuated. Based on news reports, we believe the house is gone.

Fire from Conejo Road

I was home alone when I noticed the fire. Little did I know the winds would help the spreading like it did. I"ve seen fires before, but Id never seen one spread like this. The accompanying photograph was taken with my phone about three minutes before police forced me out.

I echo what others have said as far as your home goes. I went to Westmont College and graduated last year and as a senior lived on Conejo. Moved out a few months ago and passed the lease on to a friend, the house is now gone.

My thoughts are with you also. I used to live on Conejo Lane in 1978.

At this point all local blogs, radio callers, and neightbors are claiming most houses in our area have sadly been engulfed (on Conejo specifically). Fourtunately our friends, family and local businesses and charities have been more than helpful.....

I agree with Nancy above, my thoughts are with you as well. I remember watching much of the same area burn during the Sycamore Canyon fire. Hope all works our well.

My thoughts are with you. I have vivid memories of many fires in SB since I lived there for 30 yrs. This one seems to have blown up so fast, though. I hope you're wrong about your house. .
