Sand berm protects yacht club

Waves rough up coast, but rainfall...

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Waves from the recent weather system have impacted some coastal zones, including Goleta Beach, parts of Santa Barbara and the waterfront in Montecito.  Overall, however, the rainfall totals were unimpressive.

Many areas have only received drizzle or barely measurable rain.

The sand berm at the Santa Barbara waterfront has protected the landmark Yacht club.  No damage was reported.

The breakwater wall took some hard hits from waves during high tide and those walking by ducked and ran from the ocean spray.

A warning barrier was set up at the entrance to the walkway wall.

Our First Alert weather forecast calls for calming conditions into the beginning of next week.
