Woman suffers serious injuries in rollover crash in Santa Maria

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - A woman was airlifted to the hospital with serious injuries after the vehicle she was driving crashed and rolled in Santa Maria.

The crash happened at around 5:10 p.m. at the intersection of Black Road and Mahoney Road.

Santa Barbara County Fire, Santa Maria Fire, California Highway Patrol and AMR responded to the crash.

First responders found the Chevrolet Blazer on its roof with the female driver trapped inside.

The woman appeared to be in her 30s and was complaining of major injuries. The woman required major extrication to get her out of the vehicle.

She was loaded into a CalStar helicopter and flown to Cottage Hospital for treatment of her injuries.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
